UQP wins the ABIA for Small Publisher of the Year 2022
UQP is honoured to have been selected as Small Publisher of the Year at the 2022 Australian Book Industry Awards.
UQP also took home two category awards.
Evelyn Araluen won Small Publishers' Adult Book of the Year for Dropbearand Nova Weetman won Small Publishers' Children Book of the Year for The Edge of Thirteen. UQP is tremendously proud of both authors.
Judges said: 'Every small publisher offers something unique to the cultural landscape of Australia. UQP's strength in the market is growing and they are undeniably creative in their publishing. The judging panel were impressed by the commitment to diversity, environmental issues, and promotion of Australian storytelling along with their innovative approaches to reaching new audiences and finding new voices.'
This is the second year in a row that UQP has won the ABIA for Small Publisher of the Year. The ABIAs are judged by more than 250 members of the book industry and recognise success in Australian writing, publishing and bookselling.
