UQP authors at Big Weekend of Books Festival

ABC Radio National's second annual Big Weekend of Books festival is taking place on the air waves and online over August 28-29.

Big Weekend of Books features top local and international writers in discussion including UQP authors Tony Birch, Evelyn Araluen, Samuel Wagan Watson, as well as Holly Ringland, Colm Toibin, Alice Pung, Douglas Stuart, Lisa Taddeo, Andrew O’Hagan, Marina Warner, Craig Silvey, David Mitchell, Imran Mahmood, Brendan Cowell and more.

There will be more hands-on sessions too — including a writing masterclass with one of Australia’s finest authors.


Writing Masterclass with Tony Birch

Tony Birch, author of Miles Franklin shortlisted novel The White Girl, and author of five collections of short stories including his latest volume, Dark As Last Night, will be hosting a special Zoom Writing Masterclass on the art of short story writing for ABC RN’s Big Weekend of Books.

What: Eight special competition winners will ask Tony Birch for exclusive writing advice.
