Poetry Month Launch Q&A with Aviva Tuffield and UQP authors
I find myself in the night, which is your
next day, reaching through
Eternal wonder, through the mind field of prayers, to you
~ Joy Harjo & Ali Cobby Eckermann
Join us on World Poetry Day as we launch the inaugural Poetry Month which will run across August 2021.
This special online launch event is packed with poetic goodness with feature readings by Evelyn Araluen, Eileen Chong, Jaya Savige, Phil Wilcox and Caitlin Maling from their most recent collections; a musical adaptation of an Australian poem by Ben Salter; original-poetry-satire by multi-disciplinary artist Vidya Rajan; fresh spoken word by Luka Lesson; the debut of a new commissioned co-written poem by Ali Cobby Eckermann and the US Poet Laureate Joy Harjo; a publisher Q&A with UQP's Aviva Tuffield not to mention a tonne of book giveaways with your virtual hosts Anne-Marie Te Whiu and David Stavanger.
There will also be a bunch of Poetry Month initiatives and the winner of the 2021 RR Fellowship announced.
This and so much more as we try and distill the possibilities of Australian poetry having its own national platform into a 75 minute verse capsule for you to view and imbibe free from your couch.
