'Digger Digs Down' shortlisted for 2025 CBCA New Illustrator Award

We are excited to congratulate Huni Melissa Bolliger on her shortlisting for the 2025 CBCA New Illustrator Award for her illustration work on children's picture book Digger Digs Down, authored by Johanna Bell.

The CBCA Award for New Illustrator (previously Crichton Award for Children's Book Illustration) is one of several awards presented annually by the Children's Book Council of Australia (CBCA). The CBCA established the award to recognise and encourage new talent in the field of Australian children’s book illustration. It was first awarded in 1988.

The winner will be announced at a ceremony at the National Library of Australia on Friday, August 15.
