Writing Workshops with UQP author Melanie La'Brooy

Join Melanie La'Brooy, author of The Wintrish Girl during these school holidays as she tours various libraries in the Brisbane area.

Melanie La’Brooy is the author of The Wintrish Girl, a funny, action-packed adventure set in a magical world, for 8-12-year-olds. Melanie’s sessions are fun, very interactive and occasionally get a bit loud! She does a quiz with the kids, then the whole audience is invited to play a game she created called Invent Your Own World in 10 Minutes. She also talks about famous children’s writers and the hurdles they faced. The focus is on writing and books in general, understanding failure as part of the process in any worthwhile endeavour, and letting imaginations off the leash! Ideal for children aged 8-12 years.
