Sandy Bigna's 'Little Bones' Wins ACT Book of the Year Award
A huge congratulations to Sandy Bigna, whose novel Little Bones has won the ACT Book of the Year Award!
This year's award was announced at the National Library of Australia on Friday October 16th as part of the opening day program of the Canberra Writers Festival.
The Award is the Territory's premier literary award, recognising excellence in contemporary writing and playing an important role in fostering a strong writing culture in the ACT.
Of Little Bones, the judges described it as a profound meditation on grief, friendship and healing, praising the book’s tender, poetic and assured storytelling.
ACT Arts Minister for Arts, Michael Pettersson, said the award, now in its 33rd year of recognising outstanding literary works published by Canberra-based authors in the previous calendar year, celebrated the strength of Canberra’s writing community.
Congratulations again Sandy!
