Biography
Nike Sulway (née Bourke) won the Queensland Premier’s Award for The Bone Flute in 2000. Since then she has published the novels The True Green of Hope (UQP, 2005), Rupetta (Tartarus Press, 2013), and Dying in the First Person (Transit Lounge, 2016), as well as the children’s picture book What The Sky Knows (illustrated by Stella Danalis) (UQP, 2009). Her works have won or been shortlisted for a range of national and international awards, including the Queensland Premier’s Literary Award, the Commonwealth Writers Prize, the Children’s Book Council of Australia’s Book of the Year Award, the IAFA Crawford Award, an Aurealis Award,the Norma K. Hemming Award, and the James Tiptree Jr. Literary Award.
