Biography

Dan Dixon is an Associate Lecturer in English and Writing at The University of Sydney, where he teaches English and creative writing. His non-fiction book about writers and readers, Reading Relations: How authors enter our lives, was published by University of Iowa Press in 2026. His work has been published in Meanjin, Sydney Review of Books, The Sydney Morning Herald, The Guardian, The Conversation, Overland, The Saturday Paper, Australian Book Review and elsewhere. His research has been published in Critical Quarterly and Textual Practice. He was a Sydney Review of Books Emerging Critics Fellow and has been shortlisted for the Neilma Sidney Short Story Prize. The Department is his debut novel.
