An Absence of Saints

Available. Dispatched 2-3 business days

At the heart of this exciting debut collection is the impulse to explore: family history in Europe, migration to Australia, the contours of memory and desire. Exquisite lyrics and deft narrative illuminate history’s mosaics and brilliant shards of lost time. The poems are divided into three sections, delineating the thematic preoccupations'with the acquisition and processing of experience, family history and childhood. Licari's diverse poetic encompasses lyrical and narrative poems, at times dramatically fusing the two modes.
