Murray Waldren is a National Affairs writer with The Australian newspaper. His literary portfolio includes several hundred author interviews, book reviews, commentary and publishing industry analysis. He was awarded an Australia Council Fellowship in 1973, has edited numerous books and publishes a literary website, Literary Liaisons. He is a regular book reviewer with the ABC and was on the 1999 The Australian/Vogel award judging panel. A frequent participant at literary festivals, he toured in 1988 as a member of the Queensland Arts Council Writers’ Safari. He lives with his wife Michelle Wright and his three children on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. His book Dining Out with Mr Lunch (UQP 1999) offers a selection of perceptive essays exploring well-known writers.
