General Privacy Statement

The University of Queensland Press (UQP) is committed to protecting user privacy. UQP understands and appreciates that visitors and users of this web site are concerned about their privacy and the confidentiality and security of any information that may be provided to UQP.

UQP uses the Commonwealth Government's Information Privacy Principles as a guide in its administration of personal information.

This website uses cookies to provide a customised online payment facility. If you wish to use this facility you will need to accept cookies. If you have configured your browser to reject all cookies, you will still be able to view information-only pages on the site.

Financial information provided when you purchase an item is protected at all stages of the transaction. Details of this process are explained in our security statement.

UQP will not add your name and address details to a mailing list, nor will UQP disclose these details to third parties without your consent, unless required by law. E-mail messages may be monitored by UQP's Information Systems and Strategy support staff for system troubleshooting and maintenance purposes.

You can ask UQP, by sending an email to privacy@uqp.uq.edu.au, whether UQP keeps personal information about you. You can also ask for a copy of the personal information that UQP keeps about you.

Note that before providing you with any personal information, we will ask you to provide evidence of your identity.

When you make a purchase through UQP's website, your financial details are protected at all stages of the transaction. In order to process your payment UQP needs to know your name, email address or phone number (for contact purposes) and if delivery is required, a delivery address.

Your credit card details are NOT stored on UQP's servers at any stage of the transaction. Your credit card details are submitted directly to our financial institution, the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, and are not known to our system.

On UQP's behalf, the Commonwealth Bank of Australia processes VISA, Bankcard, and MasterCard credit cards for payment through this web site.
