John Howkins is a leading figure in the global development of the creative economy. His book, The Creative Economy, (Penguin, 2000) was the first account of the new economy, describing the new ways of working that are revitalising culture. He is Deputy Chairman of the British Screen Advisory Council (BSAC) and a member of the United Nations Advisory Committee on the Creative Economy. As a consultant, John has advised clients such as ABC, BBC, IBM, News Corp, Sony, Time Warner and Universal Studios in over 30 countries.
